What’s Going On At Bal Harbour

With Fashion’s Night Out come and gone, us haute fashion enthusiasts cannot help but crave more from Bal Harbour. Lucky for us, the fashionable beachside enclave of Bal Harbour, perfectly situated at the northern tip of Miami Beach, will be experiencing a cultural awakening over the next several months. Bal Harbour’s Cultural Calendar, a complimentary and ongoing monthly series including Movies on the Beach and Performances on the Greenshowcasing talented local artists, launches on November 11, 2010. The new season will kick off with a Performance on the Green at ONE Bal Harbour Resort & Spa featuring the popular Manolo Gipsy Kings.

The exciting line-up for November and December includes:
MOVIES ON THE BEACH – Join Bal Harbour hotel guests and residents for under-the-star screenings of blockbuster hits. Free popcorn, cocktails and light bites are available.
·       “Avatar” – November 27
·       “The Grinch who Stole Christmas” – December 25

PERFORMANCES ON THE GREEN AT ONE BAL HARBOUR RESORT & SPA

·       Young Arts – December 9 – Alumni from this signature national program recognizing and supporting America’s most talented young artists will perform an original interdisciplinary work, celebrating collaboration across all genres of art.

2011 programming will include performances by the Miami City Ballet, the Overtown Music Project, and the Miami Light Project, with a finale by South Florida nightlife kings ¡Suénalo!, who will bring their signature Afro-Latin funk to Bal Harbour in April. Movies in the New Year will include classics like “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “La Vie en Rose” as well as the 2010 winning film from Optic Nerve, the Museum of Contemporary Art’s popular annual festival.
