Walk This Way: Style Week OC Kicks Off

Celebrate Orange County couture at Style Week Orange County, where stars, style and spectacle all come together to showcase home grown design talent.  With runway shows, in-store events and more happening all in one place, be sure to clear your calendar for some major closet therapy.

The third annual Style Week Orange County will not only feature already established designers, but show the work of local students from FIDM, the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. The Rack Rave, Oct. 1, kicks off with a VIP party and the latest fashions showcased in vignette format, letting viewers get up-close and personal with this fall’s trends in fashion and beauty.  Following that, “Project Runway” alum Nick Verreos will show his NIKOLAKI line of couture gowns, which he works on with fellow designer David Paul.

And then students get on the runway to present gowns inspired by the sleek lines and colors of Cadillac in Cadillac Couture: Red Carpet Gowns. Judged by Verreos and a panel from “The Bachelorand “Bachelor Pad,” you might just see the winning gown sashaying down a red carpet soon.

Nordstrom will present its trend show Oct. 2 before FIDM students for a capsule collection with Ezekiel this spring. Between the shows and all the in-store parties, you’re sure to get your fill of fall fashion whether you’re walking the red carpet or just looking to make this season rock.

Style Week Orange County is held at the Irvine Spectrum Center, 71 Fortune Drive in Irvine. For a full schedule of events, visit their official website.
