Sugar Shock: Haute 5 Desserts in Honolulu

Roy's signature chocolate souffle

Craving chocolate, cheesecake, or creme brulee? If you’re like me and can’t seem to complete a meal out or special occasion without a sweet treat, than this is the Haute 5 for you. We’re sharing the most sinful, decadent, melt-in-your mouth desserts in Honolulu.

Roy’s Restaurant: Chocolate Soufflé

Fortunately, I grew up by the original Roy’s restaurant and have been a steady regular since my early teens. I always looked forward to family dinners at our neighborhood restaurant. We’d sit in the downstairs lounge, order pupu (appetizer) style, listen to live music, and anticipate the end of the meal for a dreamy dark chocolate soufflé. To this day, I still hit the bar for a Roy’s Reserve glass of wine, small portion of butterfish atop dirty rice and the oozing with chocolate signature dessert. My sweet tooth simply can’t resist the Roy’s chocolate soufflé.

The Original Roy’s is located at 6600 Kalanianaole Hwy., www.roysrestaurant.com, 808.396.7697.
