Midnight Munchies: The Top 5 Late-Night Restaurants in San Diego

Who doesn’t like late-night dining? The worst thing that can happen when the club lights come on, besides seeing the person you’ve been dancing with up close for the first time, is to head out looking for a place to keep your group going, and finding nowhere to go. Maryjane’s at the Hard Rock

If you’re hip, you’re up late, and you’re looking to munch, you’re going to walk across the street from virtually any bar you might be at downtown and head into the futuristic coffee shop in the Hard Rock Hotel, Maryjane’s. Open until 3am and serving up sticky buns, burgers, and salads, you not only want to eat at Maryjane’s, you want to be seen eating at Maryjane’s. The Hard Rock is always the coolest place to go, even after everyone else has gone home.

BASIC

BASIC Urban Kitchen is so good! Located in the east village downtown in a 1912-warehouse-turned-diner BASIC offers up tasty grub until 2am nightly. You can order up a thin crust brick oven pizza at 1:30 am and swallow down your beer before all the cabs leave downtown. A great place to hang out that keeps their delicious kitchen open until last call, BASIC is a staple on our list.

La Puerta

Serving up amazing Mexican dishes until 1am, La Puerta is a savior when you really need a post-club, pre-breakfast taco! Right off Market and 4th Avenue, La Puerta is walking distance from every major clbar in the Gaslamp and it’s location is only topped by it’s tasty food. A great place to start and end any night, La Puerta keeps it’s kitchen going until the wee hours.

South Beach Bar and Grille

Ocean Beach is such a fun place to hang out, and when you’re night is ending, but you’re still starving you can head over to South Beach Bar and Grille and eat up truly fantastic food. With a kitchen serving up amazing mahi tacos until 2am on weekends, and 1am during the week, South Beach Bar and Grille is the place to go when it’s late and you’re hungry. Right on Newport Avenue, with a full bar complete with over twntey different tequilas, this joint is the place to go, before or long after sunset.

3rd Corner

3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro is open late, is located in three San Diego spots, making it a great find, then add on their full wine bar and kitchen making it an amazing find! They don’t just offer up the abbreviated menu until 1:30am, they offer up the whole shebang from their amazing chefs, and accompany it with their selection of over 800 bottles of wine. 3rd Corner is a place to know in San Diego and a place to find long after dark!
