Larry Gagosian Presents Art Collection at Abu Dhabi’s Manarat Al Saadiyat

Renowned art dealer Larry Gagosian will be showing his art collection in Abu Dhabi for a first- time public viewing at the Manarat Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi. The exhibition is entitled RSTW, an acronym for “Rauschenberg, Ruscha, Serra, Twombly, Warhol, and Wool” the show’s ensemble of all male artists. The show runs from September 22nd to January 24th and is curated by Anne Baldassari, president of the Fondation Picasso. A rare occasion to see some masterpieces of 2oth century art.

The show is being presented under the patronage of his Highness HH. Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Literally meaning “a place which provides happiness”, the Manarat Al Saadiyat is a temporary exhibition space on Saadiyat Island, where the new Louvre and Guggenheim museums are currently under construction alongside many luxury properties.

“The creation of this show marks another key moment in the development of Abu Dhabi’s cultural ambitions. Our aim is to continue translating the cultural vision of Abu Dhabi and its leaders, HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. We have partnered with the world’s cultural institutions to organize and create exceptional exhibitions in Abu Dhabi but we are also committed to discover and exhibit private collections. Exhibiting for the first time the private collection of Larry Gagosian is another way to reemphasize the dedication of Abu Dhabi to offer our audiences new experiences,” said HE. Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon, Chairman of TDIC (Tourism Development and Investment Company of the exhibition.

Sculptures, paintings, drawings and photography by these artists have never before been exhibited together. The show comes at a unique time in the cultural and artistic development of Saadiyat Island, soon to be a place of great cultural and artistic exploration.
