L.A. Gets a Taste of Bachelorhood with the Return of Esquire House

You’ve always heard, go big or go home, but Esquire magazine is merging the menacing choice into a rightful privilege. “The Ultimate Bachelor Pad” is back for its eighth iteration, and the 2010 Esquire House is your illustrious home away from home, enhanced with state-of-the-art technology and a curated mix of leading brands, including Hugo Boss, Corum, Lufthansa, Ferragamo, ASICS, Esquire Home, DonQ, Absolut and Heineken.

Located in Doheny Estates in the Hollywood Hills, the “Bird Streets” welcome an epic neighbor. Esquire and its lead designer, Elaine Culotti of Porta Bella, have transformed a typical ($14 million) family home into the epitome of 21st century living. The 9,000-square-foot Los Angeles residence is a remarkable, contemporary indoor-outdoor lifestyle property featuring 11 rooms, nine baths, a two-story pool house, infinity pool, hot tub and gym. The perfect pad is complete with a $500,000 music studio with state-of-the-art recording equipment, outfitted by Blue Microphones; a one-of-a-kind flight simulator created by Luxurious Animals; and an interactive 65-inch Multi-Touch Video Wall from Obscura Digital.

Rebuilt from the ground up, Esquire has created a dynamic living environment with top designers outfitting the property’s innovative and stylish interiors, but Esquire House is about more than fine living. The magazine’s “Signature Space” program has raised $7.5 million to date with more to come. As always, Esquire House will play host to some of the season’s most highly anticipated charity and celebrity events. The grand opening event, hosted by Sienna Miller, Jude Law and Felicity Huffman, on Oct. 15 will benefit the International Medical Corps. OXFAM, Oceana and City of Hope are also on the schedule of fundraising fêtes. Expect to see stars such as Mark Ruffalo, Colin Firth, Giade de Laurentiis, Minnie Driver, Emile Hirsch, among others at Esquire House supporting some of their favorite causes.

DIY Network has joined the project and will air a one-hour special on the house in January 2011. Also new this year is the addition of Esquire’s first collection of furniture, rugs and accessories; Esquire Home will decorate the home office.

Sure, bachelorhood has its perks: women, parties, minimal responsibilities and moral obligations, but trust us on this one, living “the life” would be that much better if you put a portion of your Vegas fund towards charity, and considered a home with a flight simulator rather than half-empty, week-old pizza boxes. Single or not, Esquire House requires your attention, and if you can’t get away from your busy life of basketball and drinking with the guys, you can get a virtual tour of the House online by visiting facebook.com/esquire starting on Oct. 6.
