It Stix: Sakura Stix Sushi Restaurant Opens

Whenever a new sushi spot opens it is literally music to my ears. I can eat sushi everyday of the week and still constantly crave it. There are numerous places in Atlanta to get your fix and each of them offers something specific to the customer. This brings me to the new kid on the block, the newly opened Japanese restaurant in the Collier Hills section of West Buckhead called Sakura Stix.

The menu consists of succulent combinations of sushi, sashimi, seafood, steak and salad. That’s more than a mouthful! Sakura Stix is also a hibachi restaurant where an assortment of chicken, shrimp, lobster and select veggies are prepared to your liking. Start your meal off the right way by sampling their delicious appetizers that include gyoza (pan-fried Japanese dumplings), yakitori (meat and vegetable skewers) and my personal favorite the lobster triangle, which is six pieces of lobster and cream cheese fried to a yummy golden brown. It’s sinfully delicious!

Any type of sushi you ever dreamed of can be found here and they also take special requests of your own roll suggestions. However, their specialty roll is called the Sex on the Beach, combining spicy lobster salad and shrimp tempura finished with avocado and fish eggs. I admit I was initially a little hesitant, but after the first bite I was sold. If less adventurous fare is more your speed, try the steamed rice and scallops with a side of salmon. It is cooked to perfection with some Japanese flare.

Sakura Stix wants to ensure that they leave no stone unturned because not only do they offer traditional dine-in, but also take-out, catering and delivery. There is no excuse, you must head on down and check them out! The Buckhead neighborhood has a tasty new addition that is sure to keep all of Atlanta fed for quite some time.

Sakura Stix is located at 857 Collier Rd., Suite 11. 404.351.1788.
