Indulge in Main Line Restaurant Week

Blackfish Restaurant

Restaurant weeks are more than trendy right now, but who are we to complain? Great dining rooms, delish menus and enough left over to jusify that Fall bag binge at KOP the next day. Win/win!

The Main Line’s dine around is next on the docket, running today through October 3, and the selection is vast. So vast, in fact, that they didn’t limit it to establishments physically on the Main Line; places as far as Philadelphia are in the line up. Also throwing some variety in the mix is the pricing structure: instead of all restaurants offering a certian amount of food for a particular price, participants were welcome to create their own special, offering three courses for anywhere from $15 to $40.

There’s also a ton of events and giveaways to partake in. Tomorrow Philly’s PYT will hold a cocktail event with donations going to the PSPCA, and lunch favorite DuJour will turn itself into a night club after-hours on October 2.

The real reason you are reading this post, though, is for the insider scoop on the food.

Haute Living Philadelphia’s best bets:

Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar: You don’t have to read any further to know why we love this place (there’s more than 40 tequilas to choose from!), but the Latin tapas on the menu are more than worth a visit, too. For Restaurant Week, we’d go with goat cheese-stuffed piquillo peppers, octopus salad spiked with Serrano peppers and short ribs swimming in a port wine reduction for $30. Verdad Restaurant & Tequilla Bar is located at 818 West Lancaster Ave., Bryn Mawr, 610.520.9100, www.verdadrestaurant.com

Blackfish Restaurant: We’ve never had a bad meal at Blackfish, home of super fresh fish and imaginative preparations. If you haven’t been yet, make this week your reason to stop in. Order the heirloom pumpkin soup, roasted bass with beluga lentils and classic creme brulee for $40 and you’ll join their legion of fans. Blackfish Restaurant is located at 119 Fayette St., Conshohocken, 610.397.0888, www.blackfishrestaurant.com

Dettera Restaurant & Wine Bar: Super cozy with warm woods and a fireplace, Dettera is the perfect destination for a warming meal and glass of wine (or two) on an Autumn evening. Head over and try their chestnut risotto, braised duck legs and gooey warm apple upside-down cake for $30 that will do wonders for the soul. Dettera Restaurant & Wine Bar is located at 129 East Butler Pike, Ambler, 215.643.0111, www.dettera.com
