As if we didn’t have reason enough to come to Phipps Plaza in Atlanta.
From Versace to Intermix and the newly opened Vince and the gem-filled Tiffany & Co, we could spend hours walking (and shopping) in this luxury Atlanta oasis. But when our plastic has had its workout for the day, we usually take our bags and head for a well-deserved cocktail and bite at one of the chic restaurants like Tavern, the Grape or Twist.
But, now, just in time for the extra strenuous shopping season, Davio’s Atlanta opens in Phipps Plaza. This Northern Italian steakhouse is just the thing we need to wind down and refuel after a day filled with shopping. Because even if we plan to just pop into Tory Burch, maybe just check out the shoes in Jeffrey Atlanta, it never works out that way.
From the handmade pasta prepared with an expert’s care to the perfectly cooked steak and signature Veal Chops, we can’t get enough of this new restaurant. What is can be better than a savory 8oz or 12oz Center Cut Filet Mignon? If you can’t decide between meat and pasta, opt for both. Any of the delicious and fresh pasta dishes, such as the Hand-Rolled Potato Gnocchi with Organic Mushrooms, Basil, Garlic and Truffle Oil, come in an appetizer size as well as the entrée portion. And if you only have time for a quick bite, order a glass of wine and share the Blue Hill Bay Mussels with Dijon mustard cream and fresh herbs with your girlfriend (A.K.A.- shopping partner in crime).
Davio’s Atlanta is as beautiful as it is delicious. Wind down your evening with good company, a great meal and (our favorite part) an open kitchen. Then, once you have refueled, put your bags in your car and head to one of the other spots (we love Twist and Tavern at Phipps) for a cocktail and more of a night scene.
Word to the wise: while we encourage a culinary splurge after a hard day shopping, we can’t be sure that your new skinnies will fit the same after dinner. If it were me, I would wait until morning to try on again.
