What Makes Him Haute Now: It’s nice to be honored for your work, which is why some businesses have an Employee of the Month wall. However, John A. Sobrato got more than just his picture on a wall when his company, the Sobrato Organization, was named Developer of the Decade at the annual Structures Awards. The ceremony, held by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal, honors the best people and projects in Silicon Valley real estate and development. Sobrato accepted the award along with his son, John Michael, who has been guiding the 31-year-old company during the last decade. Sobrato got his start in real estate while working with his mother. The company now owns more than 80 commercial properties with 8 million square feet in Silicon Valley.
