What Made Him Haute: New York’s greatest auteur always presents his beloved Big Apple in a sophisticated and romanticized way. His film Vicky Christina Barcelona, which was released in August 2008, won the 2009 Spirit Award for Best Screenplay. A jazz clarinetist for more than 25 years, Allen made his operatic debut directing a new production for the opening of the L.A. Opera’s 2008-2009 season.

What Makes Him Haute Now: With a highly acclaimed new movie out today, Allen once again makes known that he is among the best in the business. His latest movie, “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” is a tale told by Allen himself and is set in London. Similar to most Allen films, the movie includes Allen’s witty humor, awkward coincidences, melodrama and surprises.

The international cast include A-listers such as Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Gemma Jones, Frieda Pinto, Lucy Punch and Naomi Watts.

Allen is now currently working on “Midnight in Paris.” The movie, filmed in Paris, stars Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard and the first lady of France Carla Bruni.
