Autumn in the Hamptons

Many New Yorkers don’t usually keep the Hamptons “top of mind” once Labor Day ends. However, the fall season is one of the most beautiful times to go out East — especially for wine lovers and film fans.

The Hamptons International Film Festival from Oct. 7-11 has received universal and impressive recognition with reputable filmmakers and movie directors in the arenas of long, short, fiction and documentary. The festival introduces independent films that convey new topics and differing global perspectives which inform the audience and provide exposure for filmmakers. The festival is held in various theater venues from Southampton to Montauk and brings around 15,000 visitors annually.

In addition to these fall events, there are also perks of going to the Hamptons during this time of the year. There’s nothing better than relaxing on isolated beaches, pumpkin picking or even just experiencing your time out East without the “typical” summer weekend visitors.
