The Acquittal Heard Around the World: Blago My Eggo

So by now if you had any sort of access to a TV, newspaper or the internet today,  you know the epic results of the Rod Blagojevich Trial: guilty on only one count of lying to the FBI. Deadlocked on 24 others. We won’t bore you with trial talk, but here are some more fun facts about this Chicago character.

Lesser known facts about this international man of mystery (prior to wiretapping, anyway):

-Blagojevich dropped $205,707  at Oxxford Clothing, the Near West Side custom tailor known around the world for its handmade suits worn by gentlemen such as Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Walt Disney and Joe DiMaggio. In total, Mr. and Mrs. Blago spent more than $400,000 on clothing in a little less than seven years.

-A life-size statue of Elvis Presley belonging to Rod Blagojevich could be up for auction soon because the former Illinois governor hasn’t paid his storage fees of of at least $3,300 for more than a year.

-He asked the judge last year if he could lift a travel ban so he could go to Costa Rica to film the reality show I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here with Speidi because he was short on cash. Surprisingly, the judge declined, so wife Patti went in his place.

-The Second City created ”Rod Blagojevich Superstar,” a musical comedy with satirical spin based on the 70′s rock musical, Jesus Christ Superstar.
