Star Power: The Haute 5 Celebrity Hangouts in Dallas

Everything is bigger in Texas, which is why when celebs are in the DFW Metroplex, they don’t hesitate to do it up big. Want to catch a glimpse of all the glitz and glamor? Try one of these haute spots.

Urban Oasis

Visitors from Hollywood love the  pool at Hotel ZaZa. In the summer, guests lounge on over-sized striped lounge chairs, sip martinis at booths on AstroTurf and enjoy the fountains gurgling in the water. But Urban Oasis isn’t restricted by the seasons: in the winter, the hotel covers the pool with a heated, clear pane, only widening the swanky playground. You can bet to see celebrities like Kate Hudson at such a locale, enjoying a cocktail before she returns to one of the over-the-top suites Hotel ZaZa is known for.

Looking for a bite to accompany that drink? Walk through the glass doors into Dragonfly, another favorite for the ultra chic that serves up tantalizing dishes and great music.

Steel

Since most A-listers have to watch those cover-ready figures, a sushi spot is prime realestate to see celebs chowing down. Steel is no acception, and was rumored to be the fave local hangout for Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo when they were a couple. My guess is they had a seat in the Wasabi Booth, pictured above, and enjoyed some seabass and quail eggs with their sake (sadly, no Chicken of the Sea.)

Fearing’s

An easy target, Fearing’s inside the Uptown Ritz-Carlton Hotel is all about the best of the best. Whether you’re having a delectable meal served up by celebrity chef Dean Fearing himself, having a drink at the Rattlesnake Bar or warming up al fresco by the patio fireplace, Fearing’s is the perfect place to spot plenty of sports stars, top models and glam actresses.

The Loon

You definitely wouldn’t think The Loon is a hangout for the famous, it being basically a “dive” and all, but I am sure that’s why folks like Owen Wilson hang out there– to stay off the radar. Located across from the West Village, The Loon is an unassuming corner bar, situated in the center of a parking lot next to a Subway sandwich shop. You’ll show your ID to a burly gentleman seated on a bar stool outside, then venture in for a cold Pabst and eyeball a few Mavericks players shooting pool in the back.

Celebrity Cafe and Bakery

I know, I know, it’s like calling a place the big pink elephant, but there are some serious celeb sightings here. Maybe it’s because the cafe is located inside the ultra hip shopping center Highland Park Village, home to lavish boutiques like Jimmy Choo, Chanel and the soon-to-be Christian Louboutin (one of only seven in the nation.) Some known repeat offenders: Angie Harmon, Wayne Gretzky and of course Jessica Simpson.
