The RA Sushi in Ahwatukee is hosting a totally epic summer beach party tonight, August 7. There will be beats, contests and food and drink specials, so round up some friends, throw on some chic beach attire and bring your best “I’m on island time” attitude – then get ready to party.
In order to kick off it’s new Saturday DJ night, the contemporary sushi restaurant (an absolute favorite spot for rolls and sake among the stylish set) is bringing the beach to Phoenix tonight from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at its Ahwatukee location.
If the heat here in the Valley has had you lusting after more Malibu-appropriate temps, tiki torches and tropical fruit-infused refreshments, then you’ll be thrilled to kick back with a bodacious Bikini-tini, a concoction of vodka, coconut rum, pineapple juice and grenadine. Other specialties include the unique Tropical Sake Infusions, or the Midori Margaritas, made with tequila, triple sec, lime juice and Midori Melon Liqueur – the latter will have you and your friends reminiscing about the white sands of Cabo in no time.
As you sip, DJ Jamie G – RA Sushi-Ahwatukee’s new Saturday night entertainment – will provide the rhythm, and there will be a limbo contest and a rad raffle featuring awesome RA Sushi summer giveaways. But what people are really going to be talking about will be the Polynesian hula and fire dancers, scheduled to heat things up on the hour, every hour, from 8 to 10 p.m. And because RA knows you’re sure to work up a monster appetite in between all the action, they’ve prepared a menu of some way tasty bites, such as the Pineapple Cheese Wontons, Mango Lobster Roll and clever SPF Roll, made with spicy tuna, cucumber, albacore tuna, crispy onions and garlic ponzu sauce. For total sushi bliss, order the Monsoon Roll, made with tempura-fried King crab and avocado topped with spicy tuna, creamy tataki sauce, jalapeños, green onions and sesame seeds.
Surrounded by the spirit of ohana and aloha and all the good food and drink, you’re sure to feel super-stoked, maybe like you could even shout “cowabunga” and hang ten with the best of them.
