On Aug. 16, more than 300 guests gathered at the St. Regis Hotel Ballroom for the 2010 Symphonix Opening Night Gala Launch Party. The event was actually a pre-gala, held in anticipation of the upcoming Symphonix Gala, which will be held Tuesday, Sept. 7, and kick off the San Francisco Symphony’s 99th season.
Symphonix brings together San Francisco Bay Area’s young professionals who have a unique passion for culture and classical music.
Attendees included Opening Night Gala co-chairs, Kristen Harper and Maggie Hazelrig, launch party chairman Ye-Hui Lu, Symphonix president Kathryn Pellegrini Inglin, and Jason Royce, district manager of Wells Fargo, who presented a check for $250,000 to signify Wells Fargo’s support of the event.
For opening night, operatic superstar Jesse Norman will perform Ellington classics alongside Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony. The concert will be followed by two after parties, one in City Hall and the other in the Grove Street Tent Pavilion.
