What Makes Her Haute Now: KFC presented philanthropist Nancy Brinker’s foundation Susan G. Komen for the Cure with a check for more than $4.2 million, the largest donation in the foundation’s history. The money was raised by KFC franchisees and restaurant operators during the company’s “Buckets for the Cure” campaign. KFC dedicated special pink buckets to the campaign, with KFC restaurant operators donating 50 cents for each bucket they purchased. 5,000 KFC restaurants raised a total of $4,249,539 during the months of April and May.
