Haute Hue: Boston GreenFest

Green is the new black, with fashion designers, automobile manufacturers and restaurants, to name a few, offering more eco-friendly and environmentally sound options than ever before. Why not celebrate this haute hue (and picture perfect weekend weather) outdoors at Boston GreenFest?

Boston GreenFest, now in its second year running, kicked off on Thursday evening with live music in City Hall Plaza and carries over into Saturday. Cultural aficionados will delight in the event’s GreenFilmFest, which promises two independent films for their viewing pleasure. Fashionistas will adore the series of sustainable-inspired fashion shows, full of eco-haute collections from local and national designers. Foodies will reach nirvana with culinary offerings from the EcoCafé and EcoBazaar. And for everyone in between, let spontaneity lead your way as you navigate your way through the tents amidst this warm August afternoon.

GreenFest is a party with a purpose: the event strives to unite Boston’s many neighborhoods to promote a healthy, sustainable city. In addition to epicurean activities, the fest hopes to promote green products, services, ideas, jobs and networks, and will feature exhibits, workshops and presentations, as well as volunteers on hand, to spread the word and educate Boston residents on the importance of this cause.

To celebrate the planet accordingly, we suggest electing one of Boston’s many Earth-conscious transportation options. GreenFest is accessible via the Green Line (Government Center), by walking, biking or by carpooling.

Going green has never looked so haute.
