Tattoo You: Chicago Gets Inked

Been to North Avenue Beach lately? The one thing you’ll notice aside from the plethora of metallic and neon bikinis is the endless amount of tats. They’re everywhere and with no end in sight, it’s only fitting for Chicago to get a celebrity tattoo parlor for all your inked out needs.

Posing as a barbershop (possibly to mask the pain), Code of Conduct is a new South Loop tat shop owned by and music-industry veterans Rebecca Cairns, Floyd Davis IV and Ryan Lange whose portfolios include the likes of Sharon Osbourne, Mark Hoppus, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Chuck Inglish and local Pete Wentz.  Most recently helping Conan O’Brien’s lighting designer add to his “tour arm” and a Blackhawks fanatic show his love for the Stanley Cup winners via a male tramp stamp on Q101, the four in-house artists have worked on all the stars and have massive staying power.
Code of Conduct also carries eclectic vintage music items, clothing, art pieces and support Invisible Children, a movement to end the conflict in Uganda. Even if body art’s not your thing, it’s a cultural phenomenon worth checking out.
