Star-Spangled Events: The Haute 5 Fourth of July Parties in Dallas

“Oh say can you see”…ah you know where this is going, right? It’s that time of year again. Looking to show your patriotism this season? Do it in style.

The Race Track at Lone Star Park

The Lone Stars and Stripes celebration matches up two favorite past times: gambling and watching pyrotechnics. Just kidding. But if you want to see some horse racing and excellent fireworks displays choreographed to music, Lone Star Park is your Independence Day destination. Visit Friday or Saturday, and bring the kiddos for petting zoos and bounce houses.

Reds, Whites & You Wine Trail in Grapevine

On Saturday and Sunday, enjoy samplings of local wines along the Grapevine wine trail, along with mini-food courses and a complimentary bottle of Texas wine. Any holiday worth its salt has a wine tasting involved, and Texas Fourth of July weekend is no exception. Visit the renowned wineries in the area, and enjoy fireworks from any vantage point around Lake Grapevine around 9:30 p.m.

Kaboom Town!

Nothing says the Fourth like a party named after the sounds in cartoon Batman fights. Addison is home to the Kaboom Town! celebration, and they are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. Their fireworks display has been ranked high by Travel + Leisure and the Wall Street Journal, so you know sparks will fly. Get there early and camp out at one of the city’s 170 restaurants or 22 hotels. Patio seating, of course.

Sounds Like America Boat Party

Another Grapevine favorite, since the ‘burbs have everything this time of year, a lake outing sounds appropriate enough. A booze cruise? Even better, considering you won’t have to worry about drinking and driving (or boating? Or being under the influence while steering a pleasure craft?) Visit the lake on the 3rd for DJs including Ishi, PointBender and DragonLazer. Food stuffs provided by Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill.  Want to bring your own goodies to the party? No worries. It’s BYOB too, so every creed and color of cocktail is welcome. America. Yes.

Belmont Hotel Fourth of July Bash

It’s like looking at a great painting: If you’re too close, it’s kind of junk, but from a far enough angle it’s magic. Case in point, the Belmont Hotel. Their super-chic pool space, complete with bar, is the perfect oasis to catch the downtown fireworks without the traffic and valet issues. 7pm-midnight, enjoy festivities and musical guest Shoot Low Sheriff.
