1 Kim Vo Salon at Montage Laguna Beach
Kim Vo didn’t set out to become a household name. After perfecting his coloring and styling skills at Cristophe and Prive both located in Beverly Hills, Vo became the go-to celebrity stylist, counting Kate Hudson, Pamela Anderson, Teri Hatcher and Goldie Hawn as clients. Kim Vo at Montage Laguna Beach offers precision cuts, multi-faceted color processes and specialty services including the Bio-Ionic Straightener and Glamorous Glaze, that promises to leave hair silky and picture perfect. Vo, along with his seasoned staff continues to raise the bar in hair technology making every client feel like a celebrity. Sans those pesky paparazzi. Kim Vo Salon is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
2 Salon Canvass
With new salons popping up daily in Orange County, the longevity of Salon Canvass speaks volumes about the employees and their scope of work. Located in Huntington Beach, Salon Canvass just celebrated its 20th anniversary, and shows no signs of stopping. Make sure to book in advance, as Jackson is only available Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during salon hours. 3 LivingRoom Salon
Mix one part art gallery with one part hair salon, and sprinkle a glass of wine or a fresh cappuccino for good measure, and what you have is the recipe for success that is this funky Costa Mesa salon. Housed in an old automobile glass repair warehouse, the interior is an eccentric mix of corrugated metal doors and crystal chandeliers. This juxtaposition carries over into the salon menu where clients can get a quality cut and color, a custom facial and even purchase the latest in Dita Eyewear and Voluspa Candles at the in-house boutique. Another customer favorite? The artwork is rotated once a week allowing local and national artists to showcase their latest exhibition, providing clientele with a new visual experience for each visit. The LivingRoom is open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
For those who appreciate urban living, Madison is the only choice. Set in a loft-like environment this salon fuses modern design techniques (the finest in Japanese shears and styling tools) with classic customer service. Owned and operated by Louiz Orozco who has famously styled print campaigns for Prada and worked with models and celebrities in Italian Vogue and W Magazine, Orozco’s goal for Madison is to “create a luxurious and unique setting and infuse that setting with a new salon experience.” Luxury products from Oribe, Kerastase and the infamous Yuko straightening line are the choice of Madison stylists. Their belief lies in creating a style for each and every customer, not just cutting their hair. Madison is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
