Category: Entrepreneurs

Company: Ning

Industry: Technology

What Made Her Haute: Bianchini is CEO of Ning, an online platform for people to create their own social networks. Today, Ning houses more than 1.5 million networks, with 4,500 new ones created everyday. Bianchini also co-founded Harmonic Communications and worked as director of business development and investor relations at CKS Group. Early in her career, she served as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.

What Makes Her Haute Now: Bianchini recently stepped down from her position as Ning’s CEO in March to take on another company, Andreessen Horowitz, a venture capital firm started by her Ning counterpart Marc Andreessen. She is taking on an entrepreneur in residence role. Bianchini had co-founded Ning more than five years ago, and in the past year the social networking site has doubled to a reported 20.7 million users. Not a bad way to go out! Stepping in to fill her pricey shoes is COO Jason Rosenthal.
