What Made Him Haute: This award-winning painter, sculptor, film director, and musician will soon launch his next film, and audiences are eagerly awaiting its arrival.

What Makes Him Haute Now: Schnabel recently previewed to the press the late Dennis Hopper’s show, Dennis Hopper Double Standard, at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. The show received rave reviews for its ingenuity, and Schnabel was congratulated on his work as the curator. Schnabel’s love of art stems far and wide; his works are found in various museums such as Metropolitan Museum of Art, Reina Sofia and Centre Georges Pompidou. Although Schnabel states he is a painter first, the film industry is where he has encountered the most success. With various awards to his name, such as the César Award, Golden Palm, and Golden Globe, Schnabel’s next film, Miral, has critics and movie-goers filled with intrigue. The film will be released at the Venice Film Festival in September 2010.
