Atlanta fashion and social circles are already abuzz about this year’s Jeffrey Fashion Cares 2010. Sara Blakely of Spanx serves as the honorary chair for the Aug. 30 event planned at a high rise in the new 12th & Midtown development. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler will be the guest designers for this year’s fete of the season.
Jeffrey Fashion Cares is a yearly benefit gala hosted by famed retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky of Jeffrey Atlanta and New York. This year’s co-hosts will be Lila Hertz, Jeffrey McQuithy and Louise Sams. The 18thanniversary of the gala will once again benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta combined with Atlanta AIDS Partnership Fund. Jeffrey Fashion Cares has grown into one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country and has raised approximately $9 million. Last year, 90 cents of every dollar raised went directly to the beneficiaries.
The coveted tickets for this event will cost $500 for an individual ticket, which includes the cocktail reception followed by a live auction and runway show featuring Kalinsky’s style selection from high-end designers such as Marni, Gucci, Prada, Christian Louboutin, Jason Wu, Manolo Blahnik and of course Proenza Schouler The host committee pre-fetes and such are sprinkled throughout the upcoming months but you have to score an invite to attend one of these exclusive affairs.
Individual tickets go on sale on July 1 and are limited. Other ticket level and patron prices can be found on the website. And after seeing the sponsors of this year such as Tiffany & Co., we have a feeling that the gift bags are going to be fabulous.
