Miu Miu Debuts Flagship in Forte dei Marmi

We have no doubt that many of you, our dear readers, will be jetting around the world over the next few months, hop scotching between such chic locales as St. Tropez, Ibiza, Capri, and Mallorca. If your travels should find you in the swanky seaside town of Forte dei Marmi, in the province of Lucca in northern Tuscany, Italy, then be sure to hit up the newly opened Miu Miu flagship store there.

Designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, this new haute spot on Via Carducci features women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, and footwear. The interior walls are upholstered in damask, with mirrors and screens scattered throughout. Across the shop floor there are also large glass and damask display cases. Another beautiful feature of this store is the garden with large benches and cushions, all under a damask awning—we think it will be the perfect atmosphere for kicking back between trying on those must-have new stilettos from the Fall ’10 collections.

The opening of the Miu Miu flagship in Forte dei Marmi is part of an overall brand strategy to expand and strengthen the luxury brand’s worldwide presence. By the end of this year, Miu Miu plans to open 13 more stores worldwide, with 4 of them set to debut in the Italian market.
