Maria Sharapova Wins with Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. Earrings

It is no question that the ladies storming the grassy courts at Wimbledon are a force to be reckoned with. They are fierce competitors, both on and off the court. And in recent years, many of tennis’ greatest athletes have been setting records in the fashion arena, too. So, when we heard that Maria Sharapova was sporting a pair of fancy Elsa Peretti earrings by Tiffany & Co. during today’s fourth round singles match against another fashion superstar Serena Williams, we were not surprised.

The earrings that Sharapova selected for Wimbledon are from Elsa Peretti’s Diamonds by the Yard collection, which was introduced in 1974. The collection is a classic example of modern jewelry design, with brilliant chains and bezel-set stones. Sharapova selected a pair of sterling silver designed earrings.

Says Sharapova, “Wearing Diamonds by the Yard on the court is a perfect example of how Elsa Peretti made diamonds fashionable anytime and anywhere. It’s a pleasure to wear her signature of elegant simplicity.”

Though Williams aced her way to a win against Sharapova during today’s match, Sharapova was certainly the style winner on the court. And we can all expect to see more Diamonds by the Yard pieces on Sharapova, as she will continue to wear these beautiful baubles during all four Grand Slam events (the Australian Open, French Open, and the U.S. Open). A selection of the Tiffany for Maria Sharapova earrings will be available at Tiffany & Co. stores around the world.
