Just Breathe: Rodarte Designs Limited Edition Collection of T-Shirts After “Breathless”

Sometimes it could do us all some good to sit back, relax, and breathe. Just breathe. That’s all. And with today’s buzz of Rodarte’s limited-edition collection of t-shirts modeled after the New York Herald Tribune tee worn by Jean Seberg in Jean-Luc Godard’s masterpiece “Breathless,” this mantra couldn’t seem more appropriate.

The fashionable wares are already on sale at Barneys New York in New York City and Los Angeles, but today marks their European release. Those you of visiting the City of Light might happen upon Jean Seberg look-alikes modeling the infamous t-shirt outside the Colette boutique today. And tonight a bevy of international stars including Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Audrey Tatou, Marion Cottilard, and Wes Anderson will show their love for the black-and-white classic at the U.S. Embassy in Paris, where they are holding a special screening of the 50th anniversary theatrical release.

For those of you in the Manhattan area may we suggest stopping at Barneys on Madison to pick up your own shirt, and later heading downtown for a showing of “Breathless” at Film Forum on West Houston. After all, sometimes what’s old is new again.
