Haute Events: $100,000 Raised in Debutante Ball

The Women’s Board of California Pacific Medical Center Foundation honored 18 outstanding young women from the Bay Area at the 46th annual San Francisco Debutante Ball at the Westin St. Francis Hotel. The ball supports vital programs at California Pacific Medical Center.

Ball co-chairs were Susan Malott and Kathy Goldsmith. On hand to thank the guests was Warren Browner, CEO of CPMC and Mark Kimball, president of CPMC Foundation. Ball proceeds topped $100,000 and will support the Simulated Surgical Education Center at CPMC, a medical training facility that offers surgeons and nurses access to state-of-the-art surgery simulation technology in a realistic and comprehensive surgical training experience. This technology offers hands-on training for life-threatening emergencies and creates an opportunity for physicians to experience rare but critical medical situations in simulation.

The SimSurg Center transforms the way that surgical skills are taught and evaluated, allowing surgeons to practice skills and learn new techniques in a controlled environment. The center also provides a safe laboratory setting for research and development in surgical skills innovation, anesthesia techniques and nursing education.
