Michael Stars, the LA-based leader in women’s contemporary market known best for pioneering “casual chic” couture, has opened its 12th retail store right here in Phipps Plaza. The 1000-square foot space carries a detailed selection of the basics as well as some new fashion pieces, accessories and maternity wear. The back wall is artfully draped with your favorite closet staples, like the ribbed tank and v-necks and crew tees.
So if you are worried about finding your favorite style (they offer over 300) or favorite fabric like the signature “shine”, fret not. They will have these pieces on hand in as many as 30 color choices each season.
At the new store, we were immediately drawn to the Michael Stars Collection, which includes a few higher-end dresses and skirts made with their delicate and soft Collection Jersey fabric. These have a slightly higher price point (they range from $80 to $150) and (get this) come in three sizes, as opposed to the usual “one size fits most”.
Oh, and did you know Michael Stars does accessories? There is an edited selection of pieces displayed throughout the store, including a studded double wrap belt, embellished sandals, colorful scarves and beach totes.
As for jewelry, they have collaborated with jeweler Chan Lou for a simple yet elegant collection featuring turquoise and leather necklaces, wrap bracelets, and a variety of other pieces made with simple gemstones in delicious colors like current, teal and purple.
For fall they will be carrying 100% cashmere sweaters exclusive to their store (meaning you can’t get this anywhere else). And we always love to get our hands on an exclusive..especially a cashmere one.
