Tickets Go on Sale Today for Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

While most of those in the know think the Hamptons is the place to be all summer long, the true trendsetters of high society know that on June 27, 2010 the place to be is at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Governors Island.

We can make such a bold statement based on last year’s guest list, which goes beyond the typical VIP description. The likes of Madonna, Kate Hudson, Marc Jacobs, Chloe Sevigny, LL Cool J, Donna Karan, Lucy Sykes, Rachel Roy, Hilary Rhoda and Alex Wek were spotted last year amongst the more than 6,000 guests.

For the third annual event, Nacho Figueras stepped up to the plate to serve as co-chair, in addition to tending to his duties as captain of the BlackWatch polo team. The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic will once again benefit the American Friends of Sentebale, the U.S. outpost of the nonprofit founded in 2004 by HRH Prince Henry of Wales and HRH Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in honor of their mothers, Sentebale’s mission to help the orphans and at-risk children of Lesotho, Southern Africa.

Pay attention to the picnic ticket details, because they go on sale today, and reportedly sell out fast.
