Starting this Friday and continuing every Friday through Labor Day Weekend, the pool area at Montelucia Resort will be one happenin’ place. Resort guests and the public alike are invited to gather at the brand-new ROQ (pronounced “rock”), a chic all-outdoor restaurant located poolside.
Every Friday night from 7 to 9 p.m., a local band will be taking the stage to get this rousing party started and then keep the energy going into the evening. Expect to groove to the sounds of the Crown Kings, Cousin Effect, Rock Lobster, the Chris Parker Project, The Chadwicks, and more, with pop-rock crooners Easton Ashe kicking things off the first night.
Make a night of it by reserving a table and putting in your request for bottle service in advance. Then arrive in time to watch the breathtaking sunset over Camelback Mountain and the resort reflected in the stunning Mediterranean-inspired pool. Sample some of the establishment’s fine ROQtails and ROQtinis made with your liquor of choice, and if you’re feeling peckish, order the grilled pita bread served with hummus, creamy herb goat cheese, and a yummy eggplant spread, or share the melt-in-your-mouth crab cakes, made with jalapeno bacon, asian pear, curly endive, and citrus aioli.
Then just as the band gets going, enjoy your entrees of blackened fish tacos, oysters, 8-ounce prime tenderloin, or the ultra-indulgent seafood tower (chef’s choice). Whatever your choice, you absolutely must try one of ROQ’s nine varieties of “award-winning” fries – New Zealand chippies, Japanese fries, sweet potato fries, and others. You can’t go wrong with a single one, but the Moroccan fries with a cilantro babaghanoush dip are our personal favorite.
Now tell us that doesn’t sound like a good time.
