There was a lot going on last Thursday night in NYC. I had several galas and fetes on my list of places to be, one of which was NYDG Foundation: Rx Haiti.
This was a very important event, hosted by some of the biggest names in entertainment, including Mick Jagger, L’Wren Scott, Rachel Weisz, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michelle Williams, Sienna Miller, Jude Law, Helmut Lang, John Currin, Rachel Feinstein, Naomi Watts, Zac Posen, Christopher Niquet, Ranjana Khan, Edie Falco, Margery & Ted Mayer, EJ Camp, and David Colbert MD
I arrived to discover huge displays of food, such as prawns, oversized chocolate-covered strawberries, mixed drinks, and all types of dips. On the auction block there was a Prada tote, a ticket for the premiere and screening party of HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, a Kate Moss picture by Mark Seliger, with a starting bid of $2,000, David Benainous donated art, starting at $1,500, and many other items donated from designers, actors, musicians, and famous artists including Taylor Swift. A Bruce Springstein guitar went for $14,000 dollars and a Julian Snabel went for $6,000.
One of the mixologists on hand was the famed Alex Ott, who has two TV shows coming out about his drinks. He mixes in Tokyo and Paris, and all of his drinks incorporate a non-sugar policy, which reduces the hangover effect.
All-in-all, it was another terrific NYC charitable night.
