Dori’s World: An Intimate Monday Luncheon

One of my dearest friends, Debbie Peltz—my college roommate at Boston University freshman year before she left me and went to NYU—planned an intimate birthday luncheon on Monday for a small group of girls, and what a fabulous job she did, along with the assistance of Party Artistry. Debbie is an attorney, top Sotheby’s broker, and the mother of three adorable boys.

Upon arrival, guests entered the room and picked a name out of a Champagne glass. Each name corresponded with a person or character that followed the theme set for each of the tables: Cougar, Party Girl, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend, and Eye Candy. For example, I picked Kate Moss so I was seated at the Party Girl table. Lizzie Tisch picked the Duchess of Windsor so she was seated at Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend table.

Even though it was a very small luncheon, I thought to myself that Hermes could have sponsored it because almost everyone in attendance was carrying Birkin bags.

The ladies included Debbie’s mother Roberta Harounian, Debbie’s sister-in-law Perri Peltz, her mother-in-law Lauren Veronis, Kim Harounian, Lizzie Tisch, Jill Kargman, Elana Posner, Nina Davidson, Tara Lipton, Meredith Verona, Allison Rubler, Mesi Shashoua, Erica Karsch, Molly Jong-Fast, and Vase Gerstner. What a great way to spend an afternoon!
