“A Summer Safari” in Westhampton

The summer months are upon us, so naturally it’s off to the Hamptons, but what’s that you say? Yes, a safari does sound like a nice change, but it’s just not summer without a trip to the Hamptons. How would we explain such social abandonment to the neighbors?

You want a safari just over yonder from your Hampton home? My what lofty expectations we have, but suit yourself. A Summer Safari, Southampton Hospital’s upcoming Memorial weekend party on Sunday, May 30, takes you to the beneficiary limit without requiring you to step a loafer outside of the Westhampton Country Club grounds.

Southampton Hospital’s 31st annual Memorial Day weekend event will again benefit the hospital’s Westhampton Primary Care Center, providing exceptional and comprehensive family health care since its inception in 1995. A mélange of philanthropy, cocktails, dinner, and dancing hosted by Christiane Hiegel, Cynthia Rutherford Patry, and Farida Khan Singh, this social soirée of the season will take place on Potunk Lane in Westhampton Beach from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Tickets are $250 per person, but for those of you who like to skimp on dinner and indulge in dessert, there is an “after hours ticket” available for $100 that allows entry from 9:30 p.m.

The evening will be complete with a silent auction of fabulous items and extravagant trips, maybe Africa, so take a chance, pack your sunglasses, don’t forget your wallet, and head to your Hamptons’ address, stat! Besides, Africa is just as breathtaking in the fall.
