8th Annual Wine Aficionado Dinner

Guests poured into the W Hotel Hollywood on May 13 for the 8th Annual Wine Aficionado Dinner, which benefited the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program. The event was titled “Hollywood and Wine: The Biggest Stars in Wine Today” and featured several of the finest wines in California as Los Angeles’ best sommeliers were on hand to oversee the dinner’s wine service.

The evening finished with a live auction as hands flew in the air and voices screamed out numbers in hopes of winning bids on incredible items such as dinner with iconic comedians Cheech and Chong, “Red-Carpet-Ready”, a couture gown created by renowned designer Randolph Duke; “Abracadabra”, a dinner for twelve guests in Houdini’s mansion in the Hollywood Hills with dinner prepared by Chef Josiah Citrin of Melisse, accentuated by an 18-bottle vertical of Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

In memory of Neil Bogart, The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program was established and it supports the Bogart Labs at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Recently, the organization awarded a five-year $4.7 million grant to support the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases as well as the creation of the Bogart Leukemia Research Program. This particular event raised $260,000 for the organization’s initiatives and to date, the annual dinner has raised more than $1,916,000.
