The Raleigh Hosts Pink and Blue for Two

If you like The Raleigh Hotel, and judging from the answers that many of you provided on our Haute Secrets questionnaire, we know you do, then you should definitely not miss the Pink and Blue for Two charity event that Olivia Newton John and renowned surgeon Dr. Ernie Bodai will be hosting at the boutique South Beach hotel tomorrow night. It will be a star-studded gala to raise awareness and funds for breast and prostate cancer research with a live performance by Grammy winner Jon Secada.

Back in January, Martin Kredit, director of marketing at The Raleigh told us that through the event, they will be urging couples to help remind one another to go in for screenings of both types of cancers, hence the event tag line… “Screen Together. LIV Together.”

Newton-John, who recently filmed scenes for a May 4 episode of Glee, spoke with Howard Cohen of the Miami Herald earlier this week about the fundraising fete, where she echoed Kredit’s sentiments, saying, “We are going to raise awareness and money for breast and prostate cancer research and show the similarities between the two and encourage couples to screen together. Men are less informed. There is a correlation between breast and prostate cancer. The family that stays together stays healthy.”
