Prada Sets Up Shop in South Coast Plaza

You can never have too much Prada, and luckily the luxury label is making this easy by expanding its presence across California, with a new store opening in Costa Mesa. Fashionistas will merely have to pop over to the South Coast Plaza, where they will be able to stock up on all the bags, shoes, accessories, and collections of ready-to-wear that their little fashion-obsessed hearts could desire.

In true Miuccia fashion, the opening will be celebrated on May 4 with a cocktail soiree at the store’s location, hosted by Marsha Anderson, Inga Beder, Renetta Caya, Moira Kamgar, and Jennifer Segerstrom. The crème de la crème will get the first look at the store and its wares, and we’re willing to bet more than a few “It” girls will want to make this their second home.

It’s a given that the clothes will be things of beauty; however, the attention to detail around the store itself is sure to drop a few jaws as well. Designed by renowned architect Roberto Baciocchi, the 5,070-square-foot store will have a large luminous polycarbonate curtain framing the two wide entrances, the windows, and the light boxes, which will draw attention to the pastel green canvas lining the walls. Precious materials will add special embellishments typical of the luxury mindset of the brand, such as ivory saffiano leather, smoky mirrors, rosewood and polished steel, glass display cases, and lilac and wheat-colored velvet sofas, which will give a subtle, boudoir-type ambiance to the place. So, please, no catfights over that special product package, or one-of-a-kind gray duchesse satin coat!
