The iPad comes out tomorrow. And for those of you who have been frantically anticipating the release of this revolutionary product, it couldn’t come soon enough.
It’s loaded with all the usual trimmings apple lovers are used to—safari, mail, photos, iTunes, iPod, calendar, contacts, and the list goes on. But this sleek multi-touch screen is capable of much, much more. Like the ability to read a book off of iBooks. Or link to the Apps store where you will find more than 150,000 apps in every possible category. I’m pretty jazzed about the advanced features available on the iPad apps, but what’s even cooler is that a bunch of luxury brands have gone ahead and designed apps exclusively for the iPad.
Gilt Groupe, the invitation only online shopping destination, is particularly proud of their app. And they should be. With the ability to flip through pages of luxury designer merch like a catalog, and zoom in on a desirable designer dud is seriously revolutionary—for shopping fanatics, at least.
With the increasing accessibility of high-end products, we can spend less time driving to local shops and spend more time unearthing the countless Internet luxury forums.
