Dinner and a movie? How ‘bout wine and a show?

Since 1904, Ravinia Park has been Chicago’s “sound of summer,” the place for entertaining and hearing some of the greatest music in the world. Nestled in the ‘burbs of Highland Park, Ravinia is one of the Northshore’s best kept secrets and is the place to unwind and see and be seen. Known as the spot for picnicking and sweet tunes in an intimate outdoor setting, Ravinia has locked down some of the best acts of the season this year. So grab your friends, catered picnic basket, and a bottle of bubbly (or 3) and cheers to the best city in the world. Because every major metropolitan area needs a venue like this- NFP, BYOB and BYOF surrounded by a scenic park.

From classic rock to pop, jazz and blues, notable acts such as Earth, Wind and Fire (June 6), Sheryl Crow/ Colbie Callat (June 13), The Backstreet Boys (June 17), Jethro Tull (June 20), Sting (July 18-19), The Temptations (August 8), Crosby, Stills an Nash (August 22), Carrie Underwood (August 29), The Beach Boys (September 1) Nelly Furtado (September 3) and Train (September 4) all grace the stage in 2010. There is a performance every weekend to appeal to any musical palate.

Patrons can watch the shows from the Pavilion, in a traditional concert setting open-air theater with state-of-the-art sound, video and lighting equipment or choose to relax on the lawn area.

Also new at Ravinia is the Park View Restaurant, the 4th restaurant on the Festival grounds, a sophisticated Contemporary American with local seasonal ingredients and classic cocktails.
