Just because you’re going green doesn’t mean that you can’t have your cake and eat it too. When it comes to furniture design, these orGLAMic pieces are made from companies around the globe that keep sustainability and luxury in mind. In addition, many of these brands offer custom pieces that will perfectly suit your all-orGLAMic homes, whether in Aspen, Athens, or Antibes.
With dozens of carefully crafted styles, and showrooms in Los Angeles and New York, Environment Furniture offers a variety of orGLAMic pieces. This gorgeous Santomer Low Headboard Bed is made of Peroba rosa wood recovered from an old Brazilian coffee factory. I think this modern bed frame would be perfect for a minimalist Soho loft or similar retreat.
Mexico City-based furniture company Pirwi offers sustainable, contemporary pieces that would look great in any orGLAMic home. Alejandro Castro designed this custom-engraved Roller sofa from Birch plywood. The detail of the engraving is divine, and is made using the advanced Computer Numerical Control technology.
Everybody loves Eames. Charles and Ray Eames’ pieces have a timeless appeal, and this Herman Miller produced RAR Rocker is no exception. A favorite of design enthusiasts and collectors, all of the Eames Molded Plastic Chairs are now made of recyclable polypropylene and are sure to wow guests with their classic, yet orGLAMic, design all the same.
Craftsmanship is key for this orGLAMic furniture company. All products are organic, toxin-free, and use either reclaimed or FSC-certified woods with low-VOC finishes. Offering everything from dining room tables to sofas to ottomans, the custom bed frame pictured here is just one example of how unique this contemporary furniture can be.
Last but certainly not least, this Brooklyn-based company produces some of my favorite sustainable furniture. Most items are created using materials that have been reclaimed, recycled, repurposed, or reused. And while we’ll leave the orGLAMic details to the designers, you can claim the good taste all to yourself.
