The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts Snags 11 New ADDYs

Congrats to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts for winning big at this year’s ADDY Awards, the advertising and marketing industry’s most significant awards competition. The 2009 ADDYs marked the second-straight year in which the Adrienne Arsht Center dominated the competition’s arts and sciences category, bringing the Center’s two-year award total to 24. They will now go on to compete at the regional level.

The 11 awards recognized marketing efforts surrounding shows and programs such as its inaugural Masterworks Season, 2009 Jazz Roots series, 2009 Flamenco Festival, and the summer smash hit Fuerza Bruta, which proved to be one of the most successful and longest-running shows in the Center’s history.

“Winning 11 ADDY awards is a terrific honor for our marketing department and their partners,” said M. John Richard, president of the Adrienne Arsht Center. “The past two years have seen our marketing team support box office success and forge new relationships within Miami’s diverse community, resulting in new-found momentum for our programs and our institution. We are enthusiastic about sustaining this success as we embark on the Center’s fifth year in service to the community.”

According to pres materials, the success of the Adrienne Arsht Center’s marketing campaigns demonstrated a direct, positive impact on the organization’s bottom-line in 2009: the Center sustained strong ticket sales throughout the year and dramatically grew subscription bases for several of its key series, despite economic challenges.

Upcoming performances at the Adrienne Arsht Center include the hit Broadway musical Wicked playing through March 21; Jazz Roots: A tribute to Frank Sinatra on March 19; and Mamma Mia!, running from March 30 through April 4.
