Michael Chow On His Fifth Mr. Chow in Miami

For Michael Chow, his fifth installment of his famous Mr. Chow brand at the “W” Hotel South Beach is just right.

“This one really came together in every single way,” said Chow in an interview with NBC Miami’s FEAST. “I’m humbly blessed.”

From a modern dining room featuring a stunning 123 Gold-leaf and Swarovski crystal chandelier to its impeccable South Beach location, everything about the restaurant is on point, according to Chow who has been in the business for 42 years. Indoor and outdoor private rooms, a spacious outside dining patio and interior bar and wraparound lounge give the locale its luxurious touch.

“I’m holding my breath,” says Chow.

First opened in August of 2009, Chow said he always wanted to come to Miami due to its conditions for a successful restaurant. Today, the beachfront restaurant boasts new and creative recipes by Executive Chef Nick Jinson Du, famous for his role as executive chef at “Made in China” at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Beijing. Some of the restaurant’s high-end standouts include prawns wrapped in rice paper, rice noodles darkened by squid ink and filet mignon with crispy flour crust.

Restaurants are like a movie,” says Chow. “No restaurateur can control the outcome. This one turned out really great. I’ve been spending a lot of time here. It’s my humble duty to keep it strong.
