Junior League of Miami To Host Women Who Make a Difference Luncheon

Promising an afternoon of fun, friends and fundraising, the Junior League of Miami (JLM) will host its annual Women Who Make a Difference Luncheon with the Stars Sunday, March 14 the Four Seasons Hotel at noon. To honor remarkable women who have made a significant impact in the areas of women and children through their volunteerism, the event will include a fabulous lunch, silent auction, special presentation of awards and exclusive VIP reception. This year’s honorees are philanthropist Lourdes Castillo de la Peña, stem cell research activist Sabrina Cohen, public service advocate Claudia Kitchens, and legal pioneer Edith Osman.

Proceeds benefit projects of JLM, an organization of approximately 1,000 women dedicated to the empowerment of Miami’s women, children and families. Fundraisers like the Women Who Make a Difference Luncheon with the Stars helps to endow instrumental community programs including the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind, Sundari Foundation – Lotus House women’s shelter, WINGS (Women in Need of Greater Strength for Life) of South Florida, and YMCA reading center preschool, in addition to many others.
