Hello Neighbor: A Community Gathering

On Thursday, March 4, 2010, downtown Miami residents have the opportunity to meet and mingle with their neighbors while learning about the nooks and crannies of the area. The event will take place at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami.

What happened to the days when borrowing a cup of sugar from your neighbor was as natural as saying hello on the elevator? Or the days of baking cookies and big block parties? Wherever those days have gone, this fact remains that staying connected to our fellow residents is part of the fun of living near people.

It is in honor of that age-old tradition of neighborhood block parties that the Downtown Miami Partnership, Miami Downtown Development Authority, and Grey Goose Vodka will host a block party for the Miami’s finest residents and top stakeholders.

Now in its thirteenth year, this upscale version of a neighborhood block party will allow those who took the time to RSVP a chance to mingle and make new friends while they enjoy the sounds of live music near Alberto Cortes Cosmetics & Perfumes. While you’re there, enjoy gourmet snacks from Tre Bistro.  The festivities begin promptly at 5:30 and go on until 8p.m.

In the past, the guest list reached more than 700.  It is an opportunity for everyone to meet each other and discover the treasures that downtown Miami has to offer (if you didn’t already know), plus Grey Goose will serve cocktails. Who knows, your new best friend may be standing by the bar.
