The Debut Collection of Blouson Noir for Spring 2010

Think of the word stylist nowadays and phrases such as “reality show star,” and “Nicole Richie” tend to pop into people’s minds. With most of today’s stylists stepping in front of the camera, it’s refreshing to hear a stylist take on a different hat: designer. With resumes that read like a who’s who of the fashion world (stints at Harper’s Bazaar and Helmut Lang, consulting for Jil Sander and Calvin Klein, working with Kate Moss and David Sims), co-designers Melanie Ward and Graham Tabor have designed a pretty, and yet truly urban, collection for Spring 2010 inspired by of all things, tea towels. The 35-piece collection has separates filled with soft-textured materials, eyelets, and raffia detailing balanced by some edgy leather pieces with hardware, corset detailing, and even feathers. The line is priced within the $550-1400 range and will be available at retailers such as Barneys, Browns, and Lane Crawford.
