Louis Vuitton: Bringing You Art and Fashion In Milan

All around the world, stylistas are celebrating the season of fashion with runway shows and after-parties in New York, London, Madrid, Paris, and Milan. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with one of the most exclusive events hosted by one of the most elite luxury brands. On February 24, Louis Vuitton and the Cultural Department of the Municipality of Milan will pay homage to the city of Milan and to the Indian artist, Sudarshan Shetty, with the installation of the artwork “Maison of Shades”.

Louis Vuitton has a celebrated history of honoring the arts, so it makes perfect sense that they would be involved in this revolutionary project, which will be on display at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II from the 24th to March 2. Our LV insiders tell us that Shetty’s piece depicting an airport kiosk experiments with the architectural themes of inside space and outside space, “where the role of the eye’s gaze becomes the real protagonist.”

Pietro Beccari, deputy vice president of Louis Vuitton, said in an official statement:

Louis Vuitton is extremely honoured to collaborate once again with the Municipality of Milan by supporting the cultural and artistic initiatives organised by the Culture Department. Dedicated to the need of “reviewing” art and culture in a different way, this special operation will take place during the forthcoming Women’s Fashion Week. We are delighted to inaugurate the installation of Sudarshan Shetty’s work in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, in the heart of the city, on the occasion of the first day of the fashion shows, in this way strengthening even more the strong relationship between Louis Vuitton and the city of Milan through fashion, art and culture.

And though we might have hinted at insider connections, we also made mention that the opening event would be one of the most exclusive Italian red carpets, so if you haven’t already received your official invite, don’t fret. We’ll bring you all the photos following the reception.
