The Most Expensive Ham in the World

Looking for a haute meal? Here’s something interesting/peculiar/luxurious to look into. The Iberico ham (very rare) claims to be the most expensive of ham in the world, and the price is justified by its processing efforts. Its leg weights 15 pounds, and comes with its original DNA certificate for authenticity. Fifty pigs were reared in Extremadura, western Spain, on a special acorns and roots diet, so the taste is said to be exquisite. The ham was then marinated, salted, and cured for three years. Priced at $2,935, the ham leg piece comes packed in a hand-crafted wooden box, wrapped in an apron made by a Spanish tailor.
