You can’t slow down The James New York.
Despite a struggling economic forecast for the real estate market, the James New York, which is part of new boutique chain owned by Denihan Hospitality Group, is still slated to debut this summer. It one of several hotels opening in the city this year.
The glass-and-stone hotel rises 20 stories at the corner at Grand and Thompson Streets in SoHO. The 114 brown-and-turquoise rooms will feature built-in bars made of reclaimed wood and glass-walled peek-a-boo bathrooms with privacy screens featuring artist-commissioned floral abstracts, according to The New York Times.
A third-floor lobby, reached through a glass elevator, will provide views over LentSpace, a public art park across the street. There will also be a second-floor garden and rooftop pool lined with cabanas and a lounge.
Room rates will begin at $329 per night at the 20-story, 114-room hotel, which will be located on the corner of Grand and Thompson streets in SoHo.
