Rolls Royce Announces Successful Sales Results for 2009

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced their successful sales results for 2009, with 1,002 cars sold during the year, including the 150 Ghosts that were delivered to their delighted customers in December.

The greater demand for the Ghost has continued to grow, and their latest model has received a plethora of accolades from customers, the media, and car enthusiasts.

The demand for Phantom models has also remained strong. Their four-door versions were the most popular and accounted for more than a third of the total sales. The Phantom Drophead Coupé and the Phantom Coupé attracted new buyers to the Phantom family.

A good majority of all Phantom series cars produced at Goodwood in 2009 included some Bespoke element, with many exceptionally unique cars created for customers throughout the year. Sales for bespoke models reached record levels in 2009, and is expected to continue growing in 2010.

“This is a tremendous result and a particularly strong performance considering the challenging economic environment that all manufacturers faced in 2009,” said Tom Purves, Chief Executive Officer. “Rolls-Royce has maintained its position at the pinnacle of the super luxury automotive market and much of this success is due to our highly skilled and dedicated workforce. We begin 2010 with production on all models sold out until April.”

So what was the biggest market for Rolls-Royce in 2009? North America remained the largest, accounting for 33 per cent of sales. Europe sales were also positive, matching its 2008 figures. Sales in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions also remained strong, and showed some improved growth, especially toward the end of the year.

In the eight years since the first Phantom was produced, Rolls-Royce has since introduced five new models that have widened the appeal of the brand, continuing to prove that the mega luxury vehicle is a strong investment for all car lovers.
