Pharma Billionaire Stewart Rahr Provides Substantial Donation to Haiti

Stewart Rahr, the self-made billionaire and owner of Kinray, Inc. has made a substantial donation to charitable organizations to benefit Haiti. Kinray, Inc. is the largest privately-held distributor of pharmaceutical, generic, health and beauty, and home health care products in the world. Rahr was a primary participant in George Clooney’s “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit For Earthquake Relief Telethon,” on January 22, where hundreds of celebrities turned out including Mark Wahlberg, Justin Timberlake, Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry, Ringo Starr, Julia Roberts, Taylor Swift, Brad Pitt, Mohammad Ali, Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Cindy Crawford, Robert DeNiro, Charlize Theron, Mel Gibson, Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspoon, Keith Urban, Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Jeremy Pivens, Adam Sandler, Sheryl Crow, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, and Penelope Cruz, as well as dozens of top entertainers in the music, movie, and television industries. Rahr, also known as “Stewie Rah Rah, the #1 King of All Fun,” was the only individual that was permitted inside the closed studio who wasn’t an entertainer. “When a tragedy of this magnitude occurred, I realized that I had to give to the people of Haiti my time and support. I have always lived my life by Winston Churchill’s statement, ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give’, and cannot ignore the cries and needs of the people of Haiti during this time of need,” said Rahr.
